Blue Juniata Foodways Project

Our Blue Juniata Foodways project celebrates food traditions found in the Juniata Valley.

In a simple sense, everyone eats - so food, especially family food, can be a great way to start a conversation. Sharing food teaches us about one another and reminds us of our common humanity.

Since August 2022, we hosted 6-10 Blue Juniata Foodways events annually. Crowds turn out in great numbers, celebrate diverse cultures, and enjoy an experience together. Food sells out (often in under an hour), and people connect while enjoying a tasty meal. These connections recognize our rich cultural traditions and the people who practice them. They become a way to build community - that way includes a big table with a place for everybody.
