The Crooked Shelf Bookshop, LLC

In 2019, Community Partnerships (RC&D) announced an innovative business incubation partnership with The Crooked Shelf Bookshop LLC, a locally-owned independent bookstore in downtown Lewistown. Community Partnerships is an independent nonprofit organization that works to find solutions and resources to answer community needs across rural Pennsylvania, and is proud to share retail space and resources at their Taylor House, 23 North Main St., Lewistown location with shopkeeper Kelly Runk Rivera. Kelly’s dream was to open a bookstore and Community Partnerships is happy to be part of that dream becoming a reality.

Project Success Together (Wild Geese: Flock Together)

In 2019, Kay Hamilton, project director of Success Together (a group of stakeholders from across Mifflin County), invited Community Partnerships to introduce the Wild Geese project. The group identified a need for a mascot that represented the community and would recognize the cultural identity of the area. These goals lined up with the Wild Geese project plans and Community Partnerships welcomed the immediate outpouring of support.
