Join us for an afternoon of Irish music and the stories behind it. Bring your instrument, your voice, or just your ears to learn why this music is so special.

Workshop & Mini-Concert

Hear the cultural context of Irish music from two master tradition-bearers.

  • Direct Lineage: Lesl Harker was trained by the legendary East Galway flute master and National Heritage Fellow Mike Rafferty.

  • Authentic Stories: Discover the "why" behind the tunes and songs.

  • All Welcome: Musicians and non-musicians alike—no experience required.

  • Intimate Setting: Limited to 25 participants; light refreshments

The Musicians

Lesl Harker is a RIAM-certified instructor with 20 years of experience. As an apprentice to the late Mike Rafferty, she carries on his legacy as a master artist for Folk Arts programs.

Matt Ward is a respected singer of traditional Irish songs in the English language. Known for his "big ears," he happily bashes out reels and jigs on several different instruments (though not all at once!).

Páraic Keane is originally from Dublin and is a prominent Irish fiddler (his father, Seán Keane, was fiddler for The Chieftains).

Reserve your spot: Only 25 tickets are available! $35 per ticket
